The impact of the women’s medical education ban in Afghanistan on service coverage and maternal and neonatal mortality: a modelling study
This modelling study projects that Afghanistan’s ban on women’s midwifery and nursing education could dramatically reduce access to maternal and child health services and reverse decades of progress in maternal, neonatal, and child survival by shrinking the female health workforce and limiting women’s ability to seek care.
